~Big things in small packages~

Well I have to say that spending an hour and half with this beautiful family was far more work than I expected! Regina and her mother brought along Zoe and Mathew for some holiday pictures. Regina and I went to school together and has been years since I last saw her… I have to say she is just as gorgeous as ever. It was great seeing her after all this time and meeting her little ones. We started off at Southern Creations inside and out. What gorgeous fall and Christmas decor Cindy has used to make us feel right at home! Next, we went to “The Franklin’s” home, one of the most unique and beautiful homes in town. While little Mathew kept me moving non-stop…. Miss Zoe was really putting on the moves like modeling was just second nature and was pretty good at it if I do say so myself! By the time we got a really good work out, we were off to the playground for some really fun shots. I must admit that out of 285 photos that I took, I managed to get 67 really awesome memories captured and I enjoyed every minute of it! Thanks Regina and Ms. Charlene…..

Mother & Daughter

No doubt where Regina gets her beauty…

~Looking alot like Christmas~

Honestly didn’t think I would be posting this for a few reasons…. #1 rain was in the forecast for Sunday and it was raining when I left church. I was really worried my holiday shoots were going to be rained out. It showered lightly for a little bit and then cleared up.. YAY! The sun actually peeped out a couple times, but the most part was a little cloudy. That was perfectly fine, especially since I had my new flash and lens.. WOO HOO! There were 6 families to show up for holiday photos, not counting my own family of 9 which included me, Robert, Blake, Hunter, Dakota, Hayden, Nevada, Montana and Grammie. Shanna had about 3 families scheduled, so the day was pretty filled up. Courtney showed up to try out her new camera and help me out. What a relief that she was there and a ton of help! Everything went really well and it didn’t take me long at all to get the photos downloaded, sorted, proofed and enhanced. Now for the hard part…. It took about 12 hours to upload the photos proof books to the lab and until that was finished, I couldn’t do anything online… so getting this posted was quite a challenge! I have been anxious all day to get these pics up for a sneak peak of my 2nd holiday shoot…. So I will quit rambling and “show off” a little bit.

Hope you enjoy… please feel free to leave a comment or two and let me know what you think!!

**Just a little addition to this post since I was so rushed to get it up last night and didnt get to bed until 11:00…I know, I am just too passionate! I had a wonderful time with all of these families and found it very difficult only choosing 2 photos from each session to post. I am hoping they all love the finished shots, spread the word and call back for more! Thank you all for sharing your beautiful family and time with me… looking forward to meeting you all again, soon!**

~Miss Avery~

What a beautiful day it was for shooting…the wind was a little much, but the job was done! Miss Avery and mom Mickey joined me for a really sassy shoot all over town. Took us about 2 hours, 4 locations and Lord knows how many changes of clothes. What a great time it was for us all! Thanks to Cindy at Southern Creations in Rayville for letting us use their beautiful porch… I will certainly be shooting there again. I have been waiting on this shoot very anxiously for a couple weeks since Mickey had contacted me about her plans to get Miss Avery all girlied up and take pictures! I dont have a little girl.. so this was alot of fun for me. Let me just tell you, this little misses was somewhat unsure at first… but it didnt take long at all before she was really working it for the camera. She had a blast and her photos show it very well! To be honest with you….I couldnt get these photos posted fast enough…. so, enough rambling… Hope you enjoy!

First Christmas Shoot….

Drum roll please……………………..

What a great family to start my Christmas sessions with! Lacy, Daniel and Caden were absolutely wonderful to shoot! Of course, Lacy is gonna make sure all are looking the part and doing it pretty dang good. We went to Antique Alley for several “spots” that were perfect and then it was off to her aunt’s house for some beautiful scenery. Enough rambling… I will let you see for yourself and tell me what you think!

Ok, so it took all I had to not post all 80 photos that I shot during this session. I think for my first official family Christmas shoot.. I did pretty well. Yes, maybe I am a little partial, but you have to admit…I do have a great subject to work with! Thanks Lacy…

Everybody and their Mama

My photos are more about me than they are about the people I photograph. Seems everybody and their mama are photographers now a days….or want to be. To be honest with you, anyone can take a picture…but it takes a lot more to capture a moment. I have visited many awesome photography sites online of some absolutely awesome photos taken by talented photographers. The possibilities are endless of capturing moments of everything from everyday life to a birth of a child and walking down the aisle dressed like a princess. Memories are priceless, but everyone wants to be able to afford keeping them in an album, frame and/or scrapbook. Let me know what you think… please share your thoughts, comments and suggestions.. I look forward to any excuse that gets me out there behind the camera! Nothing is too crazy or off the wall…. Besides, I could use the experience!

My blossoming photography

Every picture I shoot teaches me more and more about GREAT photography. I love shooting a “story”. Sometimes I can look at a picture that I took and say WOW… now that is a really awesome shot! I love angles, unimaginable locations, color, naturalness (is that a word) Seems each photo is better than the last. Of course with the technology we have today for digital pictures and enhancements…its almost impossible to take a bad photo.. Ok, so maybe not everyone has the “touch”, but at least you are able to view the photos before you print them, unless you are still shooting with film. Enough rambling, I will share some photos with you that I shot last weekend of a friend of mine that will be surprising her husband with very soon! This was alot of fun for both of us….

Run a way bride

I love this picture…of course, it says a thousand words..don’t you think?

Damsel in distress...

How fun was that?!

Natural close up

Now, this is beatiful!

Funny, we had well over 200 shots… all great! We have scheduled our annual family Christmas photo shoot for November 23rd at Biedenharn Museum & Gardens in Monroe. We should have time for more family shoots if anyone is interested. Email me at – memorymi74@yahoo.com
