~All about me and my style~

My Style~

is very natural and relaxed. I like when photographs tell stories, that’s why my work has a journalistic and everyday lifestyle kind of feel. I shoot outdoors and work with natural light and backgrounds. Love bright saturated colors as well as soft washed vintage looks. So what if the kids dont want to cooperate or sit and “pose”… those make some of the best memories! Let them walk around, play…interact with them. Dance like no one is watching….

I’m Missy.. Mother of 3 awesome boys, 1 cat named Gary and a furry princess we call CeeCee! We are a military family and very proud of it. I am 34 and have been happily married for 9 years. I have several hobbies when and if I have any free time. I especially love blogging and photography. Working full-time and single mom part-time leaves me pretty limited on time for me. My fever for still life photograhpy has come and gone over the last several years… more so now than ever. Digital is the greatest thing ever! I am still learning something new everyday. I learn from others.. trial and error and just trying to figure it out myself. I have found several sites of other really awesome photographers that share the same style as I do… as I find myself learning from them, my hope is for my photography style to be an inspiration to others. I plan to use this space to share some of that with anyone interested.

Right now, most of my shoots are on weekends and some afternoons. I have been up for just about anything and/or anywhere. Although I would love to pursue this hobby full-time and make a killing from it… I can’t, at least not right now. It seems crazy to get paid doing something that I absolutely enjoy, but hey…time is money, especially while things are crazy out there. Trust me when I say, my prices will NOT have you headed to the bank for a loan. I believe that everyone should be able to keep their memories without worrying about paying out the butt for them.
I print most of my photos with an on-line photo lab and have been very pleased with their work. I also use Walmart online for smaller orders and/or specialty items. Please keep in mind that not only is it important to have an awesome shot of your memory, but to have it printed with excellent quality.

As a mother I understand things don’t always go as planned. Nothing horrifies me more than thinking back to all of the frustrating times when i would take my boys to a department store studio and fight with them to cooperate, only to be in tears and stuck buying really crappy pictures or nothing at all. I will take
some time to get to know you and your child before I bring my camera out. I strive to capture real life moments….the tears and frowns are appreciated as much as smiles and giggles. I try to keep things as simple as possible.
I use only natural light and will provide only slight direction during our time together. This being the case a studio setting is not something I offer but can be arranged. I do spend alot of time proofing, enhancing and editing as needed to ensure you the best possible shot and variety to choose from. With that being said, please keep in mind that while your actual shoot may only be an hour or little more … proofing and finishing up your actual shots may take another hour or two.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide memories you will treasure for a lifetime.
